Webmaster's Message

It's my pleasure to welcome you to pinoyriders.com.  If you have been browsing, I hope you found our site user friendly.  You probably noticed that some of the webpages don't have a back to Main Page button, or back to top button.  I thought the forward and backward arrow on your tool-bar are all you need.  Internet Explorer works best with our site.  In addition, you may need to download Windows Media Player to view the music slide videos.  Don't press play...it will auto-start.  Double click in the center of the screen to view full screen, and of course, double click to go back.  Using Quick Time or other players may take longer or longest to load.

I'm pleased to share our adventures with you.  Posting the photos and producing music slide videos are actually time consuming, and I thank my daughter Arianna and my lovely wife Brenda for helping out.

You're probably wondering if I do this for a living.  I'm a General Motors Certified Technician especializing in Engine Performance.  I'm also a Licensed California Smog Check tecnician.  "Huh!" you asked?  I'm a wrench!

I started website editing about three years ago when I was with Juan Dela Cruisers motorcycle riding club.  We have an inoperative website, so I tinkered with it.  At first, my work was awful.  Then, it got better and hope to learn more so bear with me.

2008 had been a roller coaster ride.  We had crazy weather, wild fires, record high foreclosures, record high gas prices, phenomenal unemployment, a historic election and now, we're officially in recession.  At least, we have a break at the gas pump now.

2009 has been an interesting year as well.  A US Airways plane with 155 people on board crash-landed into Hudson River in New York on January 15, apparently after striking birds upon take off from La Guardia Airport.  For the first time in the history of the United States, Barrack Hussein Obama II, a black man was inaugurated on January 20, as the 44th President of the US.  Swine flu or H1N1 killed 60 Mexicans in late April, and by the end of the month, 300 schools had closed across the U.S. and the Mexican government ordered a multi-day shutdown of all non-essential activities in the government and private sector, amounting to a shutdown of most of the economy.  And in early June, World Health Organization declared swine flu pandemic.  Since H1N1 came along, we strangely have forgotten about the West Nile Virus, SARS, Bird Flu, and etc.  Do you remember?  Whateva!  In Los Angeles, the station fire erupted on August 26 off Angeles Crest Highway, just north of La Canada Flintridge claiming the lives of 2 firefighters, scorching 78 homes and over 160,000 acres destroying the sceneries of my favorite playground, and costing over $78 million to fight.  And in the Philippines, dozens dead in floods on September 26, more flooding on October 10 resulted on a landslides killing 186, and in mid-December, more than 30,000 flee the pissed off Mayon volcano. In Colorado, the 'Baloon Boy'...remember?  On January 12, 2010 catastrophic earthquake registering 7.0 on the Ritchter's scale slams Haiti, flattening the capital.  Many feared dead and may exceed over 100,000.  US sends thousands of troops for the relief effort while an all star cast of US music performers join hand in hand for the remake of the song 'We Are The World.'

Thanks for dropping in, and I hope you make us a part of your daily routine.  Please, drop me a line if you see any room for improvement.  Please help someone if you can.  Thank You!
